What Can Green Street Teach Us? |
||
|
Green Street is one small part of London, but evokes much larger question and a scope towards crux of answers underneath it.
London's strength comes from communities bringing their enterprise, skills, cultures, networks and ambitions into the same city.
The challenge is not simply diversity. It is how we turn that diversity into connection, opportunity and shared ownership of the places we live and work.
That requires communities to contribute, businesses to take responsibility, institutions to listen and public services to work alongside people rather than separately from them.
Perhaps the lesson from Green Street is simple:
When community energy and institutional support work together, a local economy can become more than a collection of businesses. It can become part of the wider civic life of London.
Different communities. One city. Shared future.
